The Sapling Treehouse is a luxury cabin stilted among young oaks on the slice of Hill Country heaven that we call HoneyTree. The Sapling overlooks the south bank of the Palo Alto Creek to the distant hills beyond. It has a king bed, a well-appointed kitchenette, and a large master bath with a double rain shower and soak tub. There is a romantic lounging gazebo on its large private deck as well as a grill & griddle combo with propane provided.
The Sapling Treehouse is tucked into a grove of young Texas Live Oaks. String bulbs will guide you up winding steps into the bright space, lit with a wall of windows letting in gorgeous views and casting natural light around the classy and comfortable main room. The king bed is two steps up on an elevated platform, and the fun reading nook can be accessed by a built-in ladder beyond.
Down on the main level is a galley style kitchenette with a mini-fridge (separate freezer compartment), microwave, toaster oven, Keurig and pods, water kettle and a 2-burner stove. Pots, pans, dishes and utensils are well-stocked for a couple’s getaway.
The expansive master bath includes a his/hers double shower and a six-foot soak tub in front of a giant window looking out into the privacy of the trees and wildlife beyond (curtains optional).
The large private deck has a romantic gazebo in which to relax while your steaks (or veggies) sizzle on the private propane grill.
Pets! The Sapling is pet friendly, although we do require a $100 pet fee. Please let us know if you would like to bring your furry friend, and we will invoice you after your reservation is confirmed. To reach us, just reply to your confirmation email.
Nature surrounds the Sapling (the closest cabin is about 50 yards away) with all manner of songbirds, wild deer, armadillos and many more. Come relax at the Sapling! Everything is better in a treehouse!

Check yourself in with a door code, but we are always available to answer questions, and we live nearby so we are happy to pop over and help out if a need arises.
This was our third trip to Honey Tree. It was wonderful! The space is so peaceful and relaxing. We love it here!
Amazing stay. Really comfortable bed! I believe they have a water softener because the water felt like butter! The bathroom is so spacious! The patio is very private as it faces into the trees. Beautiful sunrises on the main window. Top notch design and architecture. We are definitely coming back.
We had a great time here. The place was comfortable and charming. The host was friendly and easily accessible. It was a wonderful experience.
Beautiful location & stay. We even saw a deer family outside the property :)
This was a great little treehouse retreat just north of downtown. Jacob provided accurate directions and the treehouse was stocked with everything we needed. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling to Fredericksburg.
I booked this in search of restorative retreat and found exactly that! So beautiful and peaceful! Every detail is so thoughtful and allows you to fully relax and enjoy every moment! I’m counting down the days until my next stay!
We absolutely loved our stay. Jacob was communicative, very hospitable and understanding to our change in plans. We appreciated how close it was to get to downtown, but we still felt like we were in our own little slice of heaven. Despite the other properties, we felt like our privacy was respected and we could enjoy ourselves without running in to other guests. We can’t wait to come back!
The treehouses a in a great location, about 4 miles north of main street. They are well contructed and decorated. The hosts are great communicators. The porch was a great place to have coffee and watch deer and birds. The kitchen was well stocked with pans and utensils. The bathroom was beautifully tiled. We loved our stay.
