The Live Oak is a stilted luxury cabin built in a cluster of oaks on the Palo Alto creek. Relax in the hammock. Snuggle up in the nook by the big, round window for some reading or writing. Soak in the private candle-lit outdoor bathtub with an open view of nature (use it as a bath or a hot tub!). Retire upstairs to the king bed under lacy mosquito netting and twinkle lights. Everything is better in a treehouse.
The Live Oak Treehouse is cozy and bright, and surrounded by nature. But it's also close to Fredericksburg -- only 7 minutes from the center of town. Wildlife is everywhere on our little slice of Hill Country heaven: songbirds, deer, wild turkeys, armadillos... lots to see and hear.
In the living space is a leather love seat, a coffee table on a cowhide rug, all under the big glass-paneled overhead door that slides up to allow direct access to the large deck (and hammock).
The kitchenette is complete with a Keurig and pods (as well as cream and sugar) hot-plate and water kettle (tea bags and honey), full size sink, microwave, and a mini fridge with a separate freezer compartment. We also have all the pots and pans, utensils, dishes, cups and glasses to accommodate a typical stay.
The bedroom boasts a king bed with a quality mattress and organic cotton sheets under a pretty mosquito net and twinkle lights. It also has a Victrola vinyl record player with some thrift-store records (and a built-in Bluetooth speaker for your own music.)
The book nook is a magical hang-out spot with a twin mattress daybed covered in sheep skins and throw pillows under a big round window looking out into the branches.
The bathroom features a double-headed shower with an arched door. Downstairs under the cabin is the large outdoor tub surrounded on three sides with a tin privacy wall and open toward the natural scenery of the creek on one side.
The Live Oak is one of the five cabins at The Meadow - HoneyTree's original location. Each of our cabins is totally unique, and they are a comfortable distance apart in order to allow maximum privacy and tranquility for our guests.

Our guests have access to the full downstairs patio and upstairs of the Live Oak Treehouse, as well as the freedom to walk around the property and enjoy the wildlife.

Uber, Lyft and traditional taxi services operate in Fredericksburg, but a vehicle is strongly recommended.
While the Live Oak is designed to be a romantic getaway, babies and small children are also welcome! Bring your own pack-n-play or extra bedding!
So relaxing! The fancy bedding and towels made this feel like a retreat. Sitting on the patio (or sofa from inside) made these moments so peaceful and serene. Extremely clean and well planned touches throughout. Complete privacy. Loved our stay.
We visit Fredericksburg often and from the great reviews, we knew we needed to stay here. The stay was so relaxing and exactly what me and my husband needed for our short get a way! The place was clean and absolutely charming! The host were easy to communicate with, and made sure if we needed anything they were there to help. We will definitely be booking a stay here again!
Truly enjoyed our stay. It was peaceful and quaint every way. In fact we spent a whole day just enjoying the space playing cards and games on our private porch while taking in the view and listening to the brook bellow. A few notes * the ice-maker on property does not work and the fridge/freezer is small so bring a cooler of ice if you are like me and require it for your beverages. Also there was only one small fork? So bring plastics or utensils with…otherwise it was truly wonderful! Also enjoyed Bell’s who became our pet away from home. Thank you!
A magical place that I plan to visit again. Every detail was made to make it private and special. Next time I would not even plan to go into town because of how the treehouse was built and the privacy. Love this place!
The stay was everything we imagined and more. Jacob and his wife really have got this business mastered. We have an Airbnb ourselves, and this was one of my inspos when I decorated our place last year. Everything was meticulously thought of, right down to the cabinet knobs and the types of toiletries that are available in the treehouse. Our trip was cut short due to my daughter being sick, but we’re already planning a trip back.

This space was exactly as advertised! The reading nook was what caught my attention on this listing, and it did not disappoint. A beautiful space to spend hours unplugged. Everything was clean and well maintained, and the check-in process was super easy. Far enough out to feel away from everything, but close enough to go enjoy Fredericksburg and the nearby wineries. We definitely hope to be back!
